The Lousy Blonde posts

No, this would not be "my" description of myself, but rather my beloved General Overseer's wife. I mean, you'd think she since she had not seen me in several months, she'd say something like, "Oh, how nice to see you Sister Lorrie...how have you been"? But NOOOO.....I was greeted with immediate sarcastic slander (I'm still trying to recover... sniff, sniff). Yes, I got scolded like a bad doggy for not keeping you posted on my ever-so-eventful life. Nevertheless, I have to admit it was a well deserved title. But at least I'm not as lousy as Sister Melanie....another 25 days and she'll be making her "annual post"!

It has been a VERY busy summer in the work of the Lord. Our region had a WONDERFUL youth camp last week with around 60 campers (more than DOUBLE last year's attendence)! I had double duty this year as counselor of 12 little girls, ages 8-11 and taught a class of about 25, 8-12 year old kids the Fruit of the Spirit. There is SO much work that goes into camp, but the rewards are priceless. Being able to lead one of my campers to the Lord and the other to sanctification was an absolutely priceless experience that makes it SO WORTH all the hard work. The Lord really moved in our services and it was beautiful to see so many youth seeking the Lord. Of course, I couldn't have done it without my assistant "Sargeant Jessica" (as nicknamed by our cabin). She's a natural with kids and will be a great asset to the camping ministry.

We were SO blessed to able to come "home" to so many of our NC family for their state convention yesterday. Many of them came to our regional convention a few weeks ago to sing in the WV/VA/NC state choir! So we then returned the favor and went to their convention to sing on their program. It was like old times and felt SO GOOD to be with everyone again. Of course we were missing several precious soldiers that have been wounded in the battle, but thank God, several more have enlisted! Oh God, grant me the determination to make it the last mile of the way!

Ok, Mrs. GOW, do I lose the "lousy" title now?? *SMILE*

YAY!!! YIPPEEEEEE!!!!! WA HOOOOOO!!!!! I'm SOOOOO happy you posted and you've FINISHED packin' those bags! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! It was such a blessing to read your thoughts, as you posted them here on your blog. I DO have a correction, however. I didn't call you a lousy blonde, I called you a lousy BLOGGER. You're a WONDERFUL blonde! And I'm SO SORRY for offending you. PLEASE forgive me. PLEEEEEEZE? I DID give you a great big smile and a tight hug; I was SO HAPPY to see you!!! I just should have chosen my timing better for bringing up the fact that you'd been "packin' your bags" for several weeks and your old post was gettin' pretty stale--such a disappointment to click on your address and find you're STILL packin' your bags, with no report of how the trip went. *sigh* Maybe you never actually WENT on the trip and you've spent the last several weeks laboring over those bags??? ;-) In any case, THANK YOU for a new post! I enjoyed it greatly! --But as for dear ole Melanie posting in another 25 days? I'm not holding my breath! I think I even deleted her address from my favorites. I completely gave up on her blog presence. So you are DEFINITELY a step above her! :-)

Hey! Camp was GREAT!! and state convention was as well. I kind of wish life didn't have to go back to normal but that we could have camps and conventions all year long :-) I know that's impossible though.

Hey Lorrie! I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed ya'll coming up and ministering to us Wednesday night. I'm still gleaning from Mike's message. I can't get over the though that he brought across. I know that his message was for me if not for anyone else.

Thanks Amy for the encouragement. I know Mike will be glad to hear that. He never quite feels like he can get it our quite like the Lord gave it to him (but who of us ever do?) I am thankful to have a husband that is not afraid to preach the truth. Keep praying for us that our ministry will grow to reach many souls for Christ and his church. I appreciate you as well, for all them MANY times you have BLESSED my soul in song. That is certainly your ministry:) I will be calling you soon about this weekend.
