Lovin' the New Job!

Lovin' the New Job! Well, Friday was my first day at Curves by myself, and it was quite awesome, I must say. I am just trying to get acquainted with all the ladies right now (which is about 300 members...yikes). I am so terrible with names, but I am determined to learn them. The end of my day was the coolest part. I got to talking to this lady, which happened to be a Christian. And we talked for the longest time about the Lord, mostly her sharing some miracles God had performed in her life. One of the first things she told me was that she had been divorced for 18 years and she quoted the scripture about GOD BEING HER HUSBAND.... and she was the BEST husband she'd ever had! Cool huh? Anyway, she really opened to me and shared some very personal burdens she had been carrying and asked me to pray for her. So I felt led to ask if she wanted to pray right there. So we held hands and believed God to answer the needs we had spoken of. The Lord came down in a special way and both of us were weeping and praising God! AND the coolest thing was... she prayed for me and spoke specific things I had been praying about, but hadn't mentioned in our conversation. But the Holy Ghost knows all:) God is so good and I can't thank him enough! So the Lord has given me a prayer partner at the gym that has agreed to help me pray for all the members there. This night was just another confirmation that I am exactly where God wants me to be *BIG SMILE* I am so excited that my pastor's wife, Sister Cathy, joined Curves tonight!! WHOOHOO! We had been walking at the mall for quite a while, but this is so much better! No moving targets to dodge:) My mom is supposed to be joining this week too. For those of you that know my mom and her situation, please remember her in prayer. She is desperately miserable and has fallen into a deep depression, coupled with rapidly failing health. Pray that she will "come to herself" and see that God is the ONLY ONE that can put the broken pieces of her life back together again. Lord's blessings to you all!

Lorrie
Praise God for his blessings. It is nice to be where God wants you. I pray that God bless you and help you win souls for him. We will be praying for your mom also.

I'm so sorry your Mom is miserable, yet if it will truly bring her to Christ I'm so happy! Just be sensitive to the Lord and His leading, so you'll know what to say and do, and when.

I plan to rejoin Curves in the next few weeks. I like to let the New Year's Resolution ladies clear out before I jump in. Besides, I haven't been in town enough to take advantage of it. I'll get home from Arizona next week and then I don't think we have to leave town until Couple's Retreat. Unless, of course, we start moving our stuff. If THAT happens I'll be getting my share of exercise anyway!

I am SO EXCITED that you and Bro. Smith will be joining us for the Couple's Retreat!!! Sis Melanie and I were just wondering the other day if you would be able to make it. And going down a couple days early....ALONE...would be a NICE treat for you both...and MUCH needed I'm sure:)

I'm not sure what the Curves in Vinton did, but the owner of our gym will waive the service fee completely for pastor's wives, or those in full time ministry. Wouldn't hurt to ask the owner at the gym there if they will do the same.

Thanks Sis Vicki and Sis Pam for praying for my mother. There's power in prayer!

Sounds like you have been truly blessed with a wonderful job. I don't know your Mom's situation, but I'll be praying with you for God to deal with her as He desires.

Hey, Sister Lorrie. OK, I finally found your blog!! :-)

I just read about your new job. Sounds like the Lord surely has placed you where He wants you. Praise the Lord!!! It's so neat when you find a Christian who actually believes the same way we do about the sacredness of marriage. Wow, God certainly does work in ways we can't even imagine. Who would've thought you'd find someone to be a prayer partner on your first day at a new job. That's awesome.

300 people to remember, huh? I'm so glad it's not me. I have a hard enough time learning the names of my 120 or so students each year. I can't even imagine 300!!!

I'll pray the Lord is able to use you to lift up your new friend and to encourage your mom. God bless ya, Sis.
